Pattern Review: Butterick 3772

Pattern Envelope

My Photos

Am I happy with the way it turned out?
Yes. It turned out very to be cute. I haven't seen it on the child that I made it for, but it seems like it should fit.

Were the Instructions Easy to Follow?
Yes. This is one of the easiest things I have sewn in a while and the instructions were very clear. This would be a good pattern for a beginner.

Did I Make any Alterations?

Yes, kinda. I just added the ribbon to the hem. I thought it would be cute and that it would add a little more flare to the dress.

Would I Make This Again?

Yes. It's the type of dress that a little girl could wear all summer long. I could see making several of these for my daughter if I have kids some day.

Anything Else?

Have fun with this pattern. There are so many things you can add, like ribbon, cute buttons, bows, heart shaped pockets, etc...

Fabric Used
Anne Kelle's Remix.

Final Thoughts.
This was an easy dress to make and results are so cute. Give it a try!

  1. Thank you for this, Samantha. My niece has just been given a sewing machine and I have promised to help her learn to use it. This could be just the pattern for her first attempt - she has two little daughters and would love to make a dress for the 2-year-old!
Great review and I love your little dress - it is adorable!

  2. Thanks, Lizzie!

This is definitely a great pattern to start with. It's easy enough, but there are a definitely a few skill builders involved.

Let me know how her first project goes. I would love to see it!
